The North East and beyond...

India witnessed one of the biggest electoral coup in Tripura when the BJP stormed to power. This result was even more stunning as the saffron party didn't have any presence in the communist bastion even in 2014 when Modi wave swept across the nation.

Tripura elections was the first direct contest between the BJP and the Communists. The result has sent shock waves across the political spectrum. So much so that the elephant is willing to ride in the bicycle in UP. Telengana's KCR is being projected as the man to take on Modi in 2019. Even Owaisi supports him. Obviously, the opposition parties have lost faith in the perpetual learner, Rahul Gandhi, who never seems to accumulate any wisdom. Predictably, the old lady Sonia has started attempts to keep the Congress party at the helm of opposition unity. Clearly, Madam is unwilling to cede space to any other party or leader.

Well, the next stop is Karnataka. And a byelection to Chengannoor assembly seat in Kerala. If BJP manages to win the Kerala seat, it will cause great tremors in God's own country.

As for the Communists, their arrogance and allegiance to the outdated ideology keep them company as they try to hold on to the last straw. Even if BJP doesn't gain in Kerala, the people of my state have meticulously changed their government every five years. So, after the term of this LDF government, the Communists may not have any state in their kitty....

And that would call for another round of celebrations....
