A different start for a new year..

Another new year... 2015 has ushered itself in... People look for good news, celebrations...

Still.. I would start with a glitch..My mobile phone is in repair from yesterday and will hopefully be okay by tomorrow,2nd January. Lost all the contacts and apps... Unable to wish my dearest ones personally...

The good news is that the new year has started off on a completely different note this time around..Having reached Varanasi on 26th December, I have been having a good time here. Away from the usual 'fun' that I have during holidays. In Varanasi, I am staying with an acquaintance in a temple complex. Completely new surroundings and atmosphere for me.

Today morning, we bathed in the holy river Ganga and visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple. I feel blessed to have got this opportunity on a special day. Hope the year ahead will be equally fulfilling. 2014 left with some very promising notes, both on professional and personal front. I expect things to fall in place over the next 12 months... Fingers crossed...

Meanwhile, little worried about my mobile phone... Hopefully, my next post will be from the rejuvenated device.. Until then...

Happy New Year!!!!

Save Islam

I know this post is lengthy. Still...

I am neither famous nor influential. I am an inconsequential man, an Indian, a Keralite, a Hindu, a BJP supporter. But there is really no room for being diplomatic...

I have seen the selective and downright hypocritical whining and self-pitying. The urge to look the other way and suppress the true inner voice. The opportunism and the bargaining. On the other hand I know a lot of sweet hearts, real gems of humane feelings who are as pious and God fearing as any. But today, I am fed up. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH..

Dear brothers and sisters who believe in Islam, you are the experts on what the Holy Book says, what the Prophet preached. Get your act together, speak up. For, a chunk among you have discredited your rich heritage. They have shamed you time and again under one pretext or the other.

Someone offers you 'heaven' for massacre of innicent children??? Can that someone be worthy of being a devil??

Rise against them. It has to happen from within. If you are moved by what happened in Gaza, you should be the first to be shattered by what happened in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria,, Canada, Australia, Russia, Pakistan and our very own Kashmir.

Give us a start. We will join you. You may very well say that this should not be a Hindu's fight. But I beg to differ. Lest the day comes when all of us would share a bloodied face with 'Save the world from God' written large on it. Trust me, the world will no longer be worth saving..

Requesting my dear friends to share this. I really don't believe a tag is necessary.

Saffron Sunday..

The election results from Maharashtra and Haryana are out. The BJP has surpassed all the expectations. Great job by Modiji being the face of the campaign with Amit Shah's team working exceedingly well in the background and on the ground level. Moment to cherish...

Relaxing alone like only a hardcore Taurean can...
An idle time when memories, present day reality and suspenseful future present a tantalizing collage!!!

Onam musings!!!

Incessant rain and flood in my part of the world. Death, destruction and doom...
J&K is inundated, plunged into darkness. Villages washed off, roads washed away, people left stranded.

On the other hand I am disgusted at the greedy human mind. People going after large wooden logs brought along by the ravaging flood, only to be washed away to their death. People travelling atop a bus en-route a marriage party, even while it is storming until the bus itself is washed away killing over fifty..

People quarreling over the ownership of logs deposited on river banks. People building house right at the centre of riverbed, claiming compensation after a flood and moving to government accommodation, selling it off after a few months for several lakhs, moving back to the riverbed only to repeat the same cycle..

Can you believe it?? I wouldn't have unless I saw it first hand...

There are some brave hearts who risk everything to save others, even those who regard them as enemies. The Indian Jawan in the service of the nation...

In the midst of all this, happy to wish you all...

HAPPY ONAM...

Good going...

The GDP improving, manufacturing sector showing signs of big turnaround, government getting streamlined and governance getting less cumbersome...
Good signs for my nation.

However, retail inflation continues to be a challenge. The Modi government has declared that FCI would be revamped, which could have a direct impact on retail inflation. Strengthening the PDS system and forcing the states to control hoarding should be of equal priority.

Petrol prices have come down a little. Diesel subsidy is set to go off the account books within two months or so. However, the pricing methodology followed by the state run oil companies have not been revamped. The government must take a hard, close look at it at the earliest.

Power generation, judicial and law reforms, defence development and procurement have all received due importance from the NDA government.

Doing away with the Planning Commission is another far-reaching decision which could impact our lives for the better.

The nagging border situation with the rogue neighbours Pakistan and the wily China is the big test for Modiji. I am confident that he will succeed in taming them both, but with different tools and it will take at least one or two years, in my estimation.

The polarisation within the country, both real and imaginary, can only be addressed by electoral victory for BJP in the upcoming elections.

All in all, Modiji has kept the faith alive...

15/08/2014

A very rousing and different August 15th is upon us. This time around, the mood is more delightful, hopeful and inspiring. In a world which is torn apart by idiots, whose Gods rely on number of believers to survive, we the Hindustanis know better. We are waking up..

My child...

Settled down @ Jammu without any major mishaps. The additional thrill of exploring new people and places is exhilarating. You know I simply love that part.

I do miss my Andhra friends and my dear child, Ravichandra. For the Kerala friends who wonder when I got married and had a child, here is the story.

It so happened that when Ravi's (studying in tenth class at that time) parents migrated from Udayagiri, I asked them to let him stay with me rather than putting him up in a Government Hostel. He is the best student I have seen till date and is obedient with a great character. I didn't want him to be in a hostel with minimal facilities and be distracted from his studies. Having shared accomodation with many friends, and enemies, over the years, I expected a similar experience. However, I was wrong...

This boy gave me the best gift anyone could ever give. Even though he was the topper in his class tests, I started feeling jittery every time a test came up. The punishing study schedule at school which he had to endure started at 4.30am and lasted till 11pm. Often he would not eat as much food as I thought he should. Can't blame him entirely as my cooking was not top-notch. Twice or thrice he had bouts of fever. Add to this my idealistic views typical of a Taurean, I had a great time being a worried guardian.

At the same time, he made me proud every single day. With his character, studies, accomplishments at School and outside, above all by allowing me to be his dotting parent. We spent ten months together. Months that gave me the ultimate joy of being a guardian and on the other hand reminded me of what pathetic childhood days I had..

Now, when that stage is over, I have wonderful memories, a great child who loves me a lot and a sense of responsibility. Nay...Obligation is the right word.

Hope God will enable me to reciprocate at least a small portion of what Ravi has given me.

Note: Friends, I can read your mind. Don't even imagine that you guys can talk me into marriage by preaching on the joy of parenthood. I am still to come across the right reason to jump into married life.

India MODIfied..

The results are out and it has surpassed all the expectations. The grand old party is decimated and lotus bloomed in full glory...

The pessimists, opportunists and hardcore fear mongers are whining. While the nation is jubilant and hopeful.

What Modiji has achieved is much more than an election victory. He has made people come out in record numbers to polling booths. Even more important is the fact that the youth of this nation has moved away from being apolitical and cynical about elections and democracy.

For me, this is Modiji's biggest achievement. I am sure he will guide this great civilization to the heights that it deserves. Even after that, this transformation that he has caused in the minds of young Indians will be his greatest legacy. A legacy that will live on for generations to come and will keep the world's greatest democracy the strongest one too..

@ Poonch

Sweated through Andhra
Slept through Maharashtra
Crawled across Madhyapradesh
Fried by burning Uttar Pradesh
Tired at Haryana
Sleepless across Delhi
Pleasant and sunny Punjab
Breezed through Himachal Pradesh
Relief at Jammu..

This was my three day trip from Nellore to Poonch in a nutshell. I reached Poonch on 9th night.

At the moment, glad to be here with temperatures hovering around 17 to 25 degrees. However, it will take a few days for me to settle down.

Also, my luggage will be here within 10 days only. Thereafter I will hopefully be well and truly '@ home'...

BJP Manifesto 2014

Impressed with the BJP's manifesto. I was expecting a balancing job, but the document is much more than that. It has many interesting outlines and promises.
However, no mention on article 377 is disappointing. Hoping to see positive action on that front as well.,

Vote responsibly..

Tomorrow, the first phase of Elections 2014 will be held. This election is crucial for the nation which has been tagged as 'developing country' for far too long.
The nation is held back by rampant corruption, favoritism, mismanagement and inefficient system. It is time to enshrine 'India first' as the driving force for our country so as to propel ourselves into the greatness that we deserve..

Vote responsibly...
