India witnessed one of the biggest electoral coup in Tripura when the BJP stormed to power. This result was even more stunning as the saffron party didn't have any presence in the communist bastion even in 2014 when Modi wave swept across the nation. Tripura elections was the first direct contest between the BJP and the Communists. The result has sent shock waves across the political spectrum.
